I'm actually in the process of trading my wheels and tires in for ball bearing casters. I am thinking the best solution for my braking needs will be a stick with a piece of rubber attached to the end.

Yep Good ole dayton wirewheels. Around here in New Mexico Vatos put them on any car, Jeeps, volvos, minivans ANYTHING.
